FAQ
From numerous conversations with executives and HR teams from Learning & Development and Talent Management, we have collected and answered the most frequently asked questions about mentoring programs.
Our employees do not want another tool. Is menteez still suitable?
Yes. For mentors and mentees, menteez doesn't feel like just another tool. They receive emails, fill out forms as needed, and participate in mentoring. Only the program managers work with menteez in the background.
Why have a formal mentoring program when employees are already supporting each other?
Informal mentoring is valuable, but usually only reaches a small portion of employees. A formal mentoring program creates equal opportunities, clear goals, and a structured framework. This way, significantly more employees benefit from the knowledge and experience within the organization.
Can't I just organize the mentoring program manually?
For smaller mentoring programs, manual organization is often sufficient. However, if the number of pairs increases to around 30 or more per year, or if the program is expected to grow further, the administrative effort quickly becomes substantial. Software reduces this workload and establishes the foundation for supporting more participants while maintaining consistent quality.
Our employees show little or no interest in mentoring. Is a mentoring program even worth it?
Sometimes we hear from companies that hardly any employees are interested in the mentoring program. However, our experience shows that the problem is usually not the employees' interest, but the way the mentoring program is implemented. A clearly structured process, simple registration, suitable matching, and regular impulses throughout the program increase commitment and foster engagement. This is how our clients have succeeded in increasing participation rates year after year.
Why additional mentoring when we already have many further training opportunities?
Mentoring does not replace existing development programs, but rather complements them. While training primarily imparts knowledge, mentoring enables a personal exchange with an experienced person. The focus is on individual questions, specific challenges, and personal experiences.
What distinguishes menteez from mentoring modules in SAP and Workday?
Mentoring is just one of many modules in SAP and Workday. In contrast, menteez was developed exclusively for mentoring programs. Our features and workflows are based on insights from over 100 conversations with mentoring managers. As a result, menteez is consistently geared towards what has proven successful in practice.
